Laboratoire d’Hydraulique et d’Hydro-morphologie

Le Laboratoire d’Hydraulique et d’Hydro-morphologie (HHLab) est une plate-forme expérimentale de 350 m² comprenant trois modèles physiques (construits et équipés entre 2013 et 2017). Cette plate-forme est dédiée à l’étude des processus associés aux écoulements en rivière et en milieu fortement anthropisé.

Alimentation en eau et en sédiments

Le canal large et le canal inclinable sont équipés d’un système d’alimentation avec trois différents modes d’utilisation :

  • Ils peuvent être alimentés en eau claire via une tour de régulation à charge constante. L’eau circule alors en circuit fermé via une cuve souterraine.
  • Ils peuvent être alimentés en eau chargée en sédiments en suspension (granulométrie < 1 mm) en circuit fermé également. La circulation s’effectuera dans ce cas via une cuve souterraine plus petite, équipée d’un agitateur pour homogénéiser la concentration en sédiments.
  • Enfin, il est possible, de travailler en circuit ouvert pour des sédiments plus grossiers. Les canaux sont alimentés en eau claire par la tour de régulation et en sédiments sec par une trémie. A la sortie, l’eau est dirigée vers une cuve souterraine où les sédiments se déposent, puis elle se déverse à nouveau vers la cuve d’eau claire.

Instrumentation

Plusieurs capteurs sont utilisés :

  • Mesure de hauteur d’eau par capteurs ultrasons,
  • Mesure de débit par débitmètre électromagnétique en entrée du canal,
  • Mesure de vitesse par vélocimètre acoustique Doppler (3 Vectrino Nortek & 1 vectrino profiler) , par PIV laser (imagerie de particules, système LA VISION) ou LS-PIV (vitesses de surface),
  • Mesure de la topographie du fond par scanner 2D (résolution submillimétrique, Scan Control 2900-100),
  • Prise d’images.

Sur chacune des installations, ces capteurs sont fixés sur un rail motorisé permettant leur déplacement.
